Alphabetics Mastery Levels

Depending on the Mastery GE indicated by the WRT, learners may need specific alphabetics instruction or simply to be reminded of alphabetics skills as needed.

Alphabetics Mastery GE 1-3 indicates Beginning Level and need for regular phonics instruction.
Alphabetics Mastery GE 4-7 indicates Intermediate or Advanced Levels and readiness for regular multi-syllable instruction.
Alphabetics Mastery GE 8/8+ (90-100% on List D) indicates strong decoding skills and likely no need for regular instruction--only as needed.

But what if a student demonstrates low decoding skills on the WRT, falls into the Beginning Level, and needs more basic alphabetics instruction? There is an additional assessment we can administer to learners to gather more information about what instruction they may most need.
